Take offer from Apple or stay at current role
I have joined automotive chip start-up last year. It seems company is preparing for acquisition. 2018 revenue was $35M but revenue was down to $22M with losing money in 2019. CEO is trying to raise money (up to $100M) for big self-driving chip project. Recently I got another offer from China big company. Head Quarter is located in China, but new office is opened in US. Current offer. Base Pay: 175K Equity (pre ipo) : RSU 180k worth. (4 years vesting) (0.1% of total outstanding shares) Year on year appraisal would get me ( based on company revenue) - some cash bonus (8-15%) New offer. Base Pay: 200K bonus : 100K (cash) Considering high risk (unstable US/China trade war, culture/communication problem, worse work/life balance and long commuting) and higher TC, what is better solution? Due to a long distance from home to office, I need to work from home on a regular basis. Can work from home two days per week. It will not easy to commute. Personally, turning to automotive chip was good choice because many chip design jobs are going to India. But I am worried company revenue is going down.
Don't work for a Chinese company, they'll work you like a dog and not include you.
