What companies give at least 30 days of PTO? What companies have unlimited vacation policies where it's actually ok to take 30 days off in a calendar year?

Google starts at 15 days which is 3 weeks. More years in you start getting more. IME “unlimited” vacation policies are good with a good manager and terrible with a bad manager. Bad managers will hold PTO hostage. There are a lot of bad managers out there.

^ That list includes public holidays. Google recognizes 12 days off for public holidays. That puts new hires at 27 days off / year

    • The table breaks out public holidays and paid vacation days. 27 puts you less than Chad, but more than Botswana! My original post is still true... the rest of the world absent a couple dozen countries show that 27 days is nothing to be particularly proud of. After 5 years, your policy is nice though.

Most startups are now unlimited vacation. All the ones including where I landed are unlimited. You just can't abuse it.

They do this so they don't have to pay out when you leave in 3-4 years and they also want you to take time off.

Evernote does Unlimited, with $1k spending money a year for a week long vacation. Many people take weeks at a time, with some taking month long sabbatical-type vacays.
