So I worked for Charter, and as a part of my compensation, I recieved the annual incentive program (bonus) usually in march of the following year. When i resigned mid year, I asked if my bonus would be protated. They told me I would not get any payout even though they had no written policy about how they treat AIP with resignations. is that legal?? its not like its a ton of money or anything, but its more than zero.
You said annual bonus, and asking for semi annual
Its like leaving before ur rsu gets vested
Haha..yes unfortunately totally legal..bonus is discretionary and if you leave before payout you get 0
What did you do for Charter?
Ya it is legal. You basically forfeited your annual bonus. You should have stayed for a year to be eligible for the annual bonus.
