Hello Everyone, My experience: I just finished an internship with Deloitte international tax transfer pricing and did not get a return offer. It’s one of the harder practices because of less demand. I really hated the job and the staff lacked transparency because they would only give good feedback and not tell the truth. Many days only 2-10 out of 20 people will show up. Two people told me they didn’t like there job. And coming from finance the work just was a dred and carried little impact. Midway in, I became disengaged because I knew it wasn’t the right fit. The workers will talk down my excitement and I had to wait it out until it was over. My circumstance: I never looked into Deloitte and they contacted me a year before the internship and extended my offer early August. They took me to njce lunches and spent months convincing me. I accepted my offer 1 week before getting an offer from my dream company and many others. My question: Should I feel bad about not ending with an offer although I knew it was a bad fit for me and the company?
No you should not feel bad. Learn from the experience and move on.
Don't feel bad - if you felt it was a bad fit, chances are the company felt the same way. Find somewhere which is a better fit :)
Why r u asking someone about how u should feel? Be more assertive about ur feeling😕
How long ago was this?
Feel glad that you dodged a bullet. I didn't get an offer out of my final summer internship when I was a student, and looking back now, I'm really glad because it would have been a horrible fit. I probably would have accepted the offer and then would have been very unhappy in the job. And for whatever it's worth, I'm now making double the TC of any of my intern peers who did return for full-time roles.
Got rejected from my first internship. I was literally 2 of 78 interns that didn’t get a return offer. Worked my ass off and ended up where I am now and the company is going through a struggle and hasn’t moved their tech stack to something more modern. All the interns I knew left and are struggling to find jobs cuz they settled way too fast and got lazy. Also they had an in-house proprietary language that isn’t applicable elsewhere. All I can say is I’m really glad I didn’t get a return offer.
Any time you can avoid working for Deloitte is a win.
You really hated the job. So why are you disappointed !!
