We all have these people we look up to, and see them as role models. I have a few.
One of them works at DoorDash and highly recommends it.
They are not backend engineers.
I have an offer to join the post-IPO company.
TC - 475K. I am skeptical about the future of the company though.

I am supposed to have a final round with DoorDash and will gun for E5. I'm humble and I'm well aware of my abilities, I prefer to join as E5 and NOT E6.

Will DoorDash match an offer or at least provide let's say TC of 425K? My base is 250 at the other company's offer. I know DoorDash's base will probably be lower, but it's a risk I will take.
I think that I will take the DoorDash offer, even if it will be 425K.

If I go with the other company, and not DoorDash, and my gut feeling will be correct, will be an easy path to join DoorDash, if I clear the round and get good feedback?

In order to be in that dilemma, I need your help :)
Any tips (my friend is not a Backend Engineer) for the 1+ hours system design + tech deep dive will help. I assume I will get to design a highly scalable system, but why 1+ hours? Usually, these sessions are 45 minutes?

I'm prepping on classic problems of system design and also prepping on "design food delivery system design" from aspects of driver app, customer app, and restaurant app and all their backend systems. Anything else I should consider? Any tips for coding?
Per the manage/behavioral - is it something like Amazon's LP question? In general, I'm your energetic, passionate, go-to Engineer who is extremely passionate about their work even though I'm an old geezer (but I'm still excited about tech and development like a young teenager :) ) I also offer great homemade desserts (quality chocolate-based) for my future teammates, once we all go back to the office.

  • You'll be fine. You seem to have the passion, curiosity, and drive to succeed in a fast paced environment (based on this post). Now just show the hiring panel you have the hard skills. Be yourself.

      OP
Visa, if you're in the Seattle area, I'm more than serious about the part of the desserts.

I took myself a note to dm you if I clear the round and decide to join so I can offer you some of these great desserts as a thank you tribute.
