Hey Blind,

I got an offer from State farm for an internship over the summer and I have to choose for either Atlanta or Bloomington. Any thoughts?

Corporate headquarters in the shittiest area known to man, or a satellite office in a cooler location. Pick your poison. (Grew up near Bloomington)

Don’t choose Bloomington, State Farm realized they can’t convince people to move to the Midwest, go for the remote offices (Phoenix/Atlanta). Most young new grads won’t be in HQ.

Atlanta would be more fun. State farm is in Sandy Springs here which is a pretty boujie suburb, it's like 10 mins from Buckhead and 20mins from midtown. Office is walking distance to Perimeter Mall and there's lot of shops, apartments, etc. around there. Easyish access on Marta if you wanna live closer to the city (wouldn't recommend trying to find an Airbnb in Sandy springs unless it's a nice apartment building cause it's mostly single family homes, plus Buckhead has way more nightlife and things to do). Bloomington is gonna be in the middle of nowhere so I'd recommend against it

Tempe office had the biggest R&D development center out of all the offices. As an intern you would want to work in the research labs instead of the main product stack, which is ancient (Mainframe/COBOL ancient).

It's also next to the university and it's a 3 minute walk down to the main university party street.
