He pledged 99% of his wealth to charity and hes spending a lot of his time (and money) on the chen Zuckerberg initiative (which he is not doing for PR or a stepping stone - this is really what he wants to do). Within FB - he makes a lot of decisions that prioritize the community over revenue and most of his controversial decisions were no related to profit at all. You can definitely disagree with him, but hearing him speak quite a lot - I find him to be the exact opposite.
Re YT and FB - these are very different creatures and your explanation there is actually inaccurate as well. There was a time when FB adopted YTs time spent goal, but this changed a couple of years back when internal research showed that mindlessly scrolling through viral content can make people feel lonely and sad. As a result, the company does not have a time spent goal (read: no one in the company gets a bonus when time spent is increased) and the incentive was switched to communication with family and friends.
Re value to the world - I think that you are just playing dumb here... we can get into a discussion there if you want, but that's pretty easy to research yourself.

In Zuckerberg's own words, if you trust him, you're a "dumb fuck."
"Zeynep Tufekci, the insightful scholar and observer of sociology in the internet era, argued over the weekend that YouTube is unwittingly radicalizing some of its viewers through the videos that it automatically recommends that they watch next.
She was watching Donald Trump rallies while conducting research, sitting through clip after clip, when eventually she noticed “autoplay” videos “that featured white supremacist rants, Holocaust denials and other disturbing content.” Then she watched a bunch of Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders videos. Soon, “I was being directed to videos of a leftish conspiratorial cast,” she wrote, “including arguments about the existence of secret government agencies and allegations that the United States government was behind the attacks of Sept. 11.”
And? You only hear what the news purports
FB is a toxic platform that brings out the worst in people. I am quite sure one can find correlation between the polarization in US politics and FB growth
