I'm an ex-AWS employee.
Any design review meetings will be a roast session - not a way for you to improve.
You have to be careful about getting used. Like don't take any BS work no one else wants to do.
The eyes are always on the prize: promotion. People will push countless, useless projects just to show they delivered something and use it as a data point for promotion.
You'll live and breathe the leadership principles. And it will be present in everything you do (code reviews, design docs, product meetings, etc)
The comp policy is stupid. 5% then 15%.
Benefits are little to none.
You'll have to be good at politically bullshitting your way through a lot of topics. Make it seem like even small things you do make huge impact.
PIP is never going away (although this personally didn't affect me or my team)
