2 homeless tents outside my friend's $1.2m condo in Hayes Valley.

Walked to soma and garbage everywhere at bus stops.

Stepped on human feces outside Powell Bart Station.

Walked downstairs in Powell and see a group of 5 shooting needles at 11am. 5-6 other homeless people passed out face down in the musty dingy hallway to the station.

At the machine to buy a ticket a homeless person hovering next to me trying to help me and get money from me. Smelled awful and tried not to gag but machine is so old and credit card reader barely works.

Get out in FiDi and homeless person passed out on a busy corner of a crosswalk. People in suits literally stepping over them crossing the street.

This city is insane.

      Okay, so you blame the entire city of San Francisco for the insulting Trump statues.

      Let me try another angle: We probably agree that Obama did a lot of unconscionable bombing of the Middle East that deserves far more criticism than he got and, on its own, disqualifies him from being considered a good guy or a good president. How would you feel if you were blamed, individually, for this, just because you live here?

    • SF has major problems. Yeah. But to be so heartless to say you have 0 empathy for homeless people is a bit over the top. LAAm00 in particular, Id like to learn more about your life history. Where you grew up. In what type of family. What your household income was growing up. What's your race. What people in your life have influenced you..... it's easy not to empathize with someone when you know nothing about them.

  • May sound surprising to some folks, but being homeless is rarely a choice. It is a state people do not chose to be in. Now, the op distinguishes between the "good" and the "bad" homeless. Homelessness in general detrimental to health, both physical and mental. Do you really expect someone who lives on the street for years, to care about what you with your 6 digits salary think is the decent behavior? C'mon men try to exercise some empathy.

      The system requires that somebody makes this choice. Just like your mortgage agreement does not mention that x% is guaranteed to fail to pay and foreclose enabling banks confiscate property just like a casino is guaranteed to win on the long run.
