I’m planning to move back to MS IDC after completion of my first year here at GitHub. Can anyone tell which teams have some great backend work. It’ll be good if a team is developing something entirely new because I don’t want to deal with any legacy codebase and high operational workload.
I don’t care about wlb at this time. Just need something awesome to work on and learn!
Reason for move:
1. My friends suggested me that brand name of MS> GitHub. Initially I had offer for MS then switched internally
2. Targeting L1 few yrs down the line

Why are you keep posting it multiple times
Thanks for your suggestion though. I’ll try looking at few startups. Do you think switching company is good only in 1Yoe?
Happy Hunting
Another option I can suggest is Rubrik. Little more risk to it shutting down but damn the people they hire were people Directi hired 5 years back. As companies become larger and more established pay starts dropping or I say stabilizing as per market standards as brand name commands premium.
Or you could go to no name startups like Yugabyte Observe.ai eightfold.ai and make insane money but you never know next year they are there or not and also you have insane responsibilities for it with little to no hand holding. So its a tradeoff.
My personal opinion start your career in a mid size firm preferably unicorn startup or post that stage and get a good TC bump get good learning and learn from good colleagues too and then move on to larger firms which can suistanably pay you these high TCs
Thanks for your suggestion. Need to clarify one more thing. Suppose I applied for media.net sde-1 profile and got selected, will my 1Yoe remain intact or I’ll be starting like a fresher again and it’ll take me the same amount of time as a fresher takes for my next promotion?
