We hired this new engineer who bullied a few people in his first few weeks. He was so favored by the head of mobile that he was about to be given an Engineering Manager promotion in just two weeks. Somehow this was stopped from happening after someone brought up his bozo behavior to the HR. He made some ridiculous decision and called the code shitty without even knowing what the code is doing. The female engineer who was offended by this, brought it up to the HR. He was warned. The female engineer got a bad review in performance for being over sensitive and taking things personally. Head of mobile who favored this engineer, got the team into a room and warned us not to talk about him no matter what he does. He in-fact threatened to fire people if we do. Another engineer brought this up to the HR again. He was asked to talk the VP of engineering. But the VP of engineering likes him so much because he hired the head of mobile. He brushed away the engineer when he told him about this. We also heard from another source that the head of mobile is pushing him for a promotion by sending positive emails about this engineer to the VP. When the engineer asked the VP if the head of mobile is pushing for the engineerās promotion he denied. Three weeks later, we see him getting promoted. This guy does nothing but takes 22 day PTOs and āworksā from home. Literally has 66 commits for his 9 months of trivial work. A lot of the people were annoyed but the company is not doing anything about it. Whatās the fix?
Leave
Just leave..
this is good material for those behavioral questions for future interviews.
lol!
Leave
Donāt wait for management to fix itself. Just leave.
People were so pissed that the CEO did an AMA on blind to cool them down
How did that go?
He heard everything & the VP sent an apology email saying they didnāt do a great job. VP was aware of this bozos behavior and he convinced the engineer who brought it up that this guy is going nowhere in the organization with that kind of a behavior. He still got a promotion approved by the VP himself. Lies and just lies.
Show up as whole team to VP's office š
The VP will just listen and tell the managers exactly what happened. And do nothing. Been there done that. At this point itās a lost cause.
You donāt know whatās the relationship between the two. Could be long time buddies or could be much more than that.
Get the while team together and make management choose between all of you leaving or firing that guy. But you need to get whole team on the same page.
What if the entire team gets fired? ššš¹
Job market is good for developers so who cares. Their loss.
Jump ship. Seems hopeless to continue where everyone elseās opinions are not valued
