Over the years working at various companies I've noticed some teams are extremely silo'd between PM/UX/ENG and therefore leading to an implied "waterfall approach". Yet some teams appear every collaborative - leading to an implied "lean/design thinking/driven" approach. What process does your PM/UX/ENG team use? How silo'd or collaborative are the teams? How do you gain alignment? What effect does this have on your UX team morale and output?

The method here is "build what the CEO tells you to". If that changes frequently, so be it.

Helps to kickoff w PM/Dev/UX and maintain constant communication. As UX I share all research and organize whiteboarding sessions and then will user test and iterate based on findings while keeping everyone in the loop. I tend to communicate daily about feature concepts, ideal user flows, content hierarchies, etc. And then will maintain communication throughout development and QA. Seems to work out ok.
