Hello peeps! i have been researching about Austin and how people have decided to relocate there in search of better COL. I am 11 years experinced and currently make
around 280K in SVC. If people working in Austin can chip in their YOE/TC/company in this thread, it will help a lot for people like us who are contemplating a move to Austin!

If you are looking to slow it down then okay. But expect TC to be nearly half of what you get in the Bay Area.
If you can xfer your TC into Austin then good; else forgetaboutit
I started in Texas and had offers from multiple big SF companies but couldn’t stand the culture there. I want a life outside tech but everybody there is talking about tech and that drives me crazy. Some people call it rat race or whatever but for me it’s just people too obsess with chasing prestige and TC in SF Bay Area. Also everything is just crazy expensive, the restaurants etc. Just my two cents.
Austin isn’t like SF Bay Area in any way. It’s a lot laid back and people here want it to stay that way.
Steak in Texas on the other hand🤩🤩
No one is comparing San Jose vs Bangkok Thai food.
And, don't lie, you even write like a milquetoast white boy
