Where can I get a good 1b1b in a safe neighborhood for $1600 or less?

I’m in Santa Clara right now.

I can go as far as 20 miles from Santa Clara. And I am looking for a 1bed 1bath house.
(Preferably in a community and/or a safe city.)
(Independent houses also work, but a safe city/neighborhood is a must in this case.)

- Can you peeps suggest pleasant places for a 1b1b given the above conditions?
- How much will the cost be for utilities (wifi, electricity, etc.) per month? I never lived by myself and paid for these as they were always included in my rent.
- Budget: $1600 or less. (Only for rent) + Max $200 utils.

I don’t need nice restaurants around me. I don’t eat from outside that much.

Currently, I’m living in a 4bed 2bath with three other people. The rent is $1300, and man, oh man, there’s no peace and privacy. I can’t bring dates as well. I’m done with this sharing crap.
