Ask your friend to be prepared for layoffs coz Marvell is super nasty for it in the industry.
That has definitely changed and Marvell is not looking at layoffs but redeployment if a design is no longer needed.
Intel is famous for pigeonholing its engineers. You realize this when interviewing dozens of folks from Intel.
Hard to say without knowing how much they are paying you.
Pay is the same
