  • Nope, if there is any effect it will decrease the price. Because now new hires won't get the huge sign on bonus.

      New hires haven't gotten big sign on bonuses for a while. If it is over like 40k(which is all of them except maybe new grad) they prorate it over 12 months instead of it being lump sum.
      So it being salary paid out monthly is literally the exact same as it already was.

    TC is still the same I believe. And it is not like senior engineers are getting $250k base. And L7+ are extremely rare at Amazon and they already have houses

      No in Seattle too. An amazon L6 is is between a G/FB L5 and L6. Many companies for Seattle from them and other similar companies have a starting base around $230k. My new starting base as L6 is $237k. For people who have been at the company for a few years already, you can expect their base to increase from there. So $250k is absolutely viable.
