Passed HC at Google for L5. Recruiter is submitting me to compensation committee in parallel with team match calls (Remote role).
Recruiter called back and told me my initial suggestion (based on some high numbers I saw on blind) was rejected by committee as out of band for role and Northern Virginia region.
They came back with verbal numbers, recruiter told me can probably be increased slightly:
- 175k base
- 15% standard bonus
- 425k equity (33/33/22/11)
- 0 sign on but recruiter says they can convince them to 20k sign on
- I am located in NoVA region
TC ~350k year 1&2 and then less afterward but will be eligible for refreshers (I know about the December vs January join date for refresher already, thanks Blind)
I donโt have any competing offers or loops. Can I negotiate much higher for my situation and not being in Bay/NYC, or settle for this? I donโt want to leave money on the table but itโs already a big improvement for me and work at Google seems exciting based on the team matches Iโve done.
