Intern Team Match @Google

Feb 4 8 Comments

Hey friends, my friend just passed Google intern interview. Next step for him to obtain an official offer should be the team match. Is it very hard to do the team match or is there any way to reach out to the team which has Intern opening in this summer? Thank you!

  • You can find teams you’re interested in on LinkedIn and message the managers. Tell them you’re in team matching. A lot of them will respond

Thank you, I too will give that a try. I had an interview with a team. The project seemed medium interesting to me .Not sure how it will turn out . Do you think one should try for multiple hosts before confirming one or should I not be picky at all during internship ?

    • For internship I’d not be too picky. Once you’re in you can always learn more about different teams/orgs. But if are able to get multiple host matches by all means meet with all of them

They discourage you from reaching out to teams yourself, though if you know a manager or team you want to work with you could always reach out to them. Based on what they put in that questionnaire, a lot of teams will generally set up a call within the next few weeks. I didn’t have any exceptional experience and didn’t find the team matching to be too hard. I would just wait like 2-3 weeks and if you don’t hear anything then start asking around.
