Position: Staff software engineer Location: SF Bay Area Base: 176K RSUs: 140K Total Compensation: ~250K/year
How does this come up to 250k ? 176 base 17.6k target bonus 35k stock Total ~230k 20k joining ? Am I missing something

Are titles this much inflated at paypal?
You could definitely negotiate on RSUs. The base seems to be inline to what MTS1 makes here at PayPal. The RSUs though can definitely get higher

Base can go upto 190K and RSUs upto 200K. Don't forget to ask for joining bonus20-30K. PP has money you need to twist their arm and ask.

Base is ok. You probably can try to squeeze out another 10k or so. Not more than that. Rsus can be negotiated. Ask for 200k. You might get 180-190k. Although you need to be willing to walk away. Base - 185k, rsus - 200k over 3 years is your best case offer. Is your 9 yrs of experience as software engineer or is part of it something different?

9 years of software engineer experience. Paypal moved the needle to 180K base. 135K RSUs over 3 years.
Is Staff software engineer above MTS 1 and MTS2?
MTS1 = staff software MTS 2 = senior staff sw
Actually Sr MTS here is one level above MTS 2. It's weird, but the levels are inflated here. Better to go by internal PayPal levels. T24 - Sr SE T25 - MTS 1 T26 - MTS 2 T27 - Sr MTS Yours is T25 level offer
