Don't have Affirm numbers yet, so I'll share Amazon. All else being equal, what is better for new grad? Does Affirm stock have much upside potential?

Amzn new grad offer: $130K base, $60K signing / 2, $95K stocks / 4

  • I’m an idiot so bear w me but I don’t get the hype behind affirm. 30% of their revenue was from peloton alone and seeing as how we’re on the verge of a recession, I’d expect people start financing fewer big purchases.

Amazon can suck if you get a bad team but it’s more stable, and like others said, you’ll learn a ton

Upside potential is bigger than Amazon but so is downside potential

At Amazon you’ll suffer but you’ll learn a lot.

What kind of things does one learn a lot in Amazon .. say .. instead of in Google?

You learn in both places, but when comparing Amazon to Affirm, at Amzn you get exposure to a lot more technologies and senior people. You get to know the ins and outs of running distributed system at scale. Same can be said for Google, but it’s not the original question.

affirm ng standard offer in HCOL area is 135k base, 100k/3 years RSU grant 1, 60k/2 years RSU grant 2, and 30k sign on bonus.

I reneged on Amazon for affirm and I'd do that decision again without a sweat. Imagine dealing with PIP possibility, incredibly backloaded stocks, terrible wlb, lower TC, and not even being put on a team which u wanted (it's randomized).

Yeah it's 230k TC for me first year. I do agree, pretty nuts.

I'm not sure if MN falls under the same cost of living band, but I've heard that people in Denver, Atlanta, and I think North Carolina had the following package:

      122k base, 100k/3 years RSU 1, 60k/2 years RSU 2, 25k sign on

      So roughly 210k first year
