Got this offer from Rapid7 for a Lead Software Engineer position in the security team (IDS appliances). Fully remote. Work closely matches with my grad thesis work. Base Salary: 194K Bonus: 23K Stock: 84K (25% per year vesting) TC: ~238K Current Salary as SDE 2 in Seattle TC: ~240K I can try negotiating with HR to get the salary on par with my current salary. I am hoping that the workload will be a little lighter in Rapid7. And may get some relief from on-call duties. What do you guys think?
Is changing teams within Amazon an option?
Haven’t considered that yet. I am not happy with my work life balance here. Working almost 10-12 hours a day in my current team. I am assuming it will be the same everywhere in AWS.

ah, sounds like under the larger InsightIDR product team. base looks good, but i think you can negotiate a higher stock grant also, a target bonus of 10% or 15% is pretty standard; i assume this is the case with your offer? edit: feel free to dm if you have other questions about the company, culture, wlb etc
