A colleague of mine is a contractor at another company who got a conversion offer for about 115k base, not including benefits. The company states that this salary is the middle for a very wide pay band. Total comp looks to be about 135k after factoring in bonus and 401k matching. There are no RSUs in the offer.
They currently contract there at about 120k a year total. They are operating well above the expectations of their current level, which is a level below the offer title of Senior Designer in the offer letter. As a result, they've become responsible for a lot more.
This is at large fortune 500 company working in a complex industry navigating plenty of policy and compliance constraints, which they've become familiar with. That subject matter experience is highly valued in the industry they are in.
They are located in Philadelphia. Thoughts? Should they ask for more?
Any general thoughts on negotiation strategy?
Thanks in advance.
