Got an email from a recruiter about targeted compensation for data science role in Atlanta. What should I say? I am a recent grad (Dec 2020) with MS in Business Analytics and have no idea about how much new grad makes in Atlanta. Also, searched glassdoor indeed etc and seems like this company has no data science related salary online. The company is Manhattan Associate and I am thinking of writing targeted compensation between 80-90k. Is that number a lot to expect. What would be a good salary for less than 1 yoe for ds in Atlanta? #dataanalytics #datascience
Usually it is a good idea to not give your number and say you are flexible and would like to hear what they are offering. New grad hires usually have pretty standardized salaries. If you need to, give the higher number and negotiate as needed. 90k should be a good number to target.
The email that I got from recruiter asks for total targeted compensation. Should I just leave it as “flexible” then? and also can I dm you as you work at Manhattan Associates
Sure you can dm
80 to 90 is the range I have seen here
Thanks. I replied the same range to the recruiter too. Let’s see what happens next
Did u accept the offer ?
If it helps, my first role at Amazon was an entry level business analyst and got about 85k TC in Seattle. That’s the bottom of the band and the role is mostly product analytics rather than data science. So your range sounds about right
