Is Confluent (Core Kafka) experience transferrable?

Hello folks, this question is very specific to the Kafka team, particularly Kafka cloud.

Will the experience in that team be too niche or will it be transferrable? Asking this because I am comparing it to the Uber Maps team. Normal data flow issues but with live streamed data.

    Tons of companies use Kafka, I can only imagine it would be. That and you’d probably come out the other side with expert knowledge

  • I use kafka on a day to day basis. The fact that I am from Confluent, I get reached out by recruiters specifically for my kafka and event driven architecture skills. Only a few people have the skill and the market is growing. Its similar to ML but still behind the curtains.

    Its a good niche to have. Gives you an edge in negotiations
