    Lol. There is no L9 at Amazon, and no “sr director.” This is borderline shitpost due to inaccuracy, except this is a really good idea. Would be great is facebook and google were on here too.

    You’ve way upleveled the microsoft roles. The people i know who were directors at microsoft and then came to amazon entered amazon as directors or more likely, as senior managers. I don’t know anyone who got a promotion in title going from microsoft to amazon, i’m sure it has happened but so rare to see.

  • The L6 mapping to 61, 62 looks strange and incorrect to me. Will be good if someone who has worked in both places can comment.

      Amazon hires MBAs at L6 whereas MSFT hires them at 61. Also devs are paid more at Amazon whereas MSFT Engineering salaries are the same regardless of discipline.

    L6 = L63/64. AMZN has a L6 sublevel called L6M which is essentially a L6 with a couple directs. L6M = L65. L7= L66 and on from there.
