I work in presales at Salesforce in Chicago. I make $98k a year total compensation. I have a friend that’s a solution engineer at Docusign and makes considerably more. Can anyone confirm where my market value stands? I feel like I’m underpaid, especially at such a big tech firm
If you haven't already I'd check out sites like Glassdoor and Paysa. I've found them to be surprisingly accurate for my pre-sales roles, sometimes within hundreds of dollars. Of course they're only as good as the data that is volunteered to them. That being said, pre-sales salary's can vary greatly, I've made between 80k to 216k in presales. So yes there is much more money to be made in pre-sales but remember work satisfaction is worth more than money.
Underpaid is relative to experience when comes to presales.
