have a final round interview at pwc wih a partner. interview is a 30 minute video chat. is there anything extra I should do to prepare? If i’m meeting with a partner am I basically in?
Based on my experience at KPMG, I'd say you got the job. Just don't be a goofball. Keep it professional but show confidence and adaptability. Good luck.
More or less. But I expect it to be a discussion around your past experience so that he/she can access your fit across their practice
Awesome. I feel a lot better.
Yeah if you’re meeting with a partner this will likely be a sense check that you aren’t completely insane and know how to speak to people at all levels. Don’t worry about needing to impress them with your experience, they will know that already. Be human, show your approachability and I’d even go as far as to ask them why they like working there.
That’s great to hear. There are high chances for you, it is definitely a selection process and not rejection process. Partners make themselves free for an hour to interview you, where their hourly billing rates would be $1000+. However you never know! Just prepare to reply to your questions on point and be more articulate with your answer. Nothing would be technical in this round All the best
Any idea what kind of questions might be asked? This is for a manager position in advisory. I have a lot of stories ready.
You have the job. You will have to really mess this interview to not get it
When I am doing a final interview round for a candidate, I am only looking to make sure that he/she is articulate and smart enough for me to put them in front of a client. In fact, most of the time in a final round is spent selling the firm to the candidate and talk about why we think they would be great here. So don't worry. Be confident. You will be fine.
Just had the final round. Partner said he liked me and I’d be a good fit. How long do you think until I get an offer? I’m really excited
Partner doesn't care about the technology that you will be working on. They already know you are good if reached this stage. They want to see if you are good to work with or not. Don't worry too much. Just be yourself and he'll be impressed
Any idea what types of questions they might ask? Ie “what type of leader are you?”
My final round with the partner was over a dinner table. He just asked me about my education level, my part experience with previous company. I tried to talk about technologies I have worked on, but he didn't ask any follow up questions. He asked me more team player skills and leadership skills
