Amazon recruiter ghosts after cold email?

I got a cold email from an Amazon recruiter saying they were "impressed" by my background and wanted to talk with me. I followed up with my availabilities and they looked at my LinkedIn afterwards, but I haven't heard since, despite me sending a follow-up a few days later. Is it possible I've been ghosted? Kinda sucks if so, because I don't think my background is particularly impressive and I haven't been getting past the resume screen at almost all the places I've been applying to. #amazon

That's standard recruiter boilerplate. They haven't read your resume, and are most likely using some sort of tool or browser extension to spam people with data they're getting from their premium LinkedIn subscriptions.

It's annoying to see recruiters complain on LinkedIn about people shotgunning job applications when they do this BS.

  • Amazon recruiters do this to me all the time. I’ve learned to not take them seriously.

It makes no sense to me. What do they get out of this? Do they just spam, look at the resumes of those who respond, and ghost the undesirable folks?

    • Yup. They don’t even put an effort into their emails. It’s just a template.

I don't think so as the recruiter asked for my availabilities for the next two weeks

Thanks for the thoughts, nonetheless. I'm still a little naive when it comes to SWE job hunting
