ive heard salespeople at thoughtspot are making $500k+/year. does anyone work there? is this true?
I don't know, but I know Thoughtspot is a fucked up place. Filled with high nepotism and racism.
Explain please. How do you know it is?
It's not a secret, just look at the profiles of people who work there, notice anything? All of same race, same country (even region), same age, same college.
Yet another nutanix, full of snobbish iitians...who think they are magicians even if all they are building is, for eg a simple logger...stay away from such f****d up companies, especially if you are not an iitian with less than 5 yrs ex. and a masters from an ivy school.
Didn't they make money selling Nutanix? So they seemed to have done well for themselves. I very recently came across this company, and am not really convinced by their product. AI is a fad in my opinion
AI is not a fad, but many companies will definitely take advantage of the buzzword
I honestly don't know what sales make but it wouldn't surprise me since they are bringing is huge deals.
I know ThoughtSpot all too well, and know a dozen culture stories that deserve to be held up to the light of day in the public eye. ThoughtSpot represents themselves best in their own voices. Take a look at Glassdoor. It looks like they are writing self-flattering (possibly fake or salted reviews) for themselves there, and I’d be wary of planted info here or on the Internet as you don’t know who you can believe. Best to talk to former employees on LinkedIn (search them out—turnover at ThoughtSpot has been high the past two years) and judge for yourself by looking at the similar writing style and thin info on these inorganic clusters of 5 star reviews. https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/ThoughtSpot-Reviews-E818996.htm - There are ten or more 5 star reviews in 72h window starting around 10/4/2019 including one that’s a copy-and-paste - Seven 5-star reviews in 48h starting 11/6/2016 - Three 5-star reviews on 11/1/2018 - Numerous other periods of similar-sounding authors writing 5 star reviews posted within days or a week of each other over this company’s entire lifespan - None of these 5 star reviews ever has a single idea for improving the company The only reviews that sound honest are the critical ones. Agreed. Talk to employees that work at ThoughtSpot and judge the culture for yourself. However; planted posts is a patently false accusation and more of a baseless hit on the culture than a substantiated claim. If you look at their reviews, like most companies, there are both positive and negative reviews, but largely, positive and that clearly makes people on here upset. I'm not in management, have worked at ThoughtSpot for 3 years, and have never once been asked to write a review, being and likely written by one of the many companies ThoughtSpot has displaced. Sales culture was not great due to executive turnover, but I've not heard the same from any other department.
ThoughtSpot hasn’t displaced a single company. When half a dozen or more 5 star reviews appear the same day, cue the Twilight Zone music as you read them and imagine the Brobots and Stepford Wives dutifully typing them out in unison. What upsets people isn’t another company’s alleged success, it’s appalling management behavior and dead-end pipelines that feels masked-over by spates of fishy reviews.
