Can h4 dependent in US work for employer in india and get paid in indian salary ?

india employer is perfectly fine for workin remotly.

    Yup! Since he/she getting Indian income and not American. As long as there is no American payroll and no $ credited to the American bank accounts, should be fine. When they take away American right of work it’s wise to work for other countries. Make sure you get paid in India. This is personal view.

      I have verified from an attorney and a DSO from school that, remotely working for any other company outside the US is not allowed under F1 status. Assuming the same is true for H4 and H1 as well. Reasoning provided to me was as below:

      As long as you are “physically present” in the US, the work needs to be authorized. You can always work outside the US remotely even for a US company, but not other way around. Key thing to note is “physical presence” requires work authorization no matter what kind of H visa or F visa you have.

      Now some people might do this knowingly or unknowingly and don’t get caught. But that doesn’t mean it’s legal to do that here. Talk to an attorney if in doubt not the Blind lawyers who are literally debating on this.
