Hi, Yoe 2 I have an offer from zynga, I'm confused if I should accept it. Currently working on backend java tech decently latest stuff. I have an offer from zynga, tech stack would be c# and unity. Is it good to switch - am I jumping backwards? I have to add I didn't play much games, how imp is it to like what you are building. How's the wlb at zynga india. I have just started my job hunt, zynga was the first one I applied, because i liked the interview experiences/questions asked. So I don't have any other offers. Offer 22 + 5 + 2 relocation Thanks. Stay safe. #zynga #bangalore
Are you getting a good hike from your current TC? Honestly I don't like Billing systems at all but that's what I build currently so yea you will be fine.
~30%. I feel that's good. At my current I'm not expecting much ++ this year. I feel understanding the end product will make the development easier. And you'll get the idea of what the user wants. But I'm not sure if that will be required here.
And doge to the 🌝
Its game development , i choose not to interview for the same reason . It will be potentially career ending move if you stick to their tech stack. Also you must know that zynga is not what it was few years back most of their core products from a decade back like farmville have stagnated. 30% is a bit low too since you only switch once in 2-3 years.
Does moving to HFT firms where most of the work is in C++ is also a career ending for a backend engineer? As the number of companies/startups are very small since its a niche.
The real HFT is done in very less places in India , otherwise most banks with fancy job descriptions has just java developers mostly but an ideal HFT exposes you to the programming way more interesting and impactful than other software jobs. The latency can be in nano second. Also what you tried to compare was apples and oranges ;)
WLB is generally good, but also depends on the team. What is the position offered - SE1 or SE2?
Se 2. Can I dm you?
sure
I'd go to zynga, but have an exit strategy, in that you don't want to stay there too long, a couple of years, 3 at max. Zynga as a company just isn't what it used to be, so learn some c#, make some money, and get out.
Avoid . I also had an offer . After talking to few zynga employees I decided to avoid . Most of people leave after a year due to the tech stack and not getting work on backend stuff . For just 30% hike, don't join , stay where you are and look for better opportunities.
Don't join Zynga India. Bad work life balance and pretty dull work in some teams. All the important services are in US. Dead games are transitioned to India just for maintanence work.
looks like you are new to blind. Tell us the offer sir
Updated.
