My company is putting a strong emphasis on employees getting Cisco certifications.

I’m curious about the relevancy of these at the more popular, Bay Area companies on Blind.

Stay away from the Cisco certs. Waste of time and money. Study/research more open source protocols like openflow to improve your profile.

It shows on a resume that you have a good foundation.

Lol at a suggestion for Openflow. Learn BGP, learn OSPF, learn strong layer 2 technologies, redundancy technologies, ACLs, subletting, summarization, L2 VPN, L3 VPN, VPRN/VRFs, segmentation / zones. All of this is learned with Cisco certs.

If your employer is paying, it couldn't hurt to get certified but it's worthless among the top-tier companies.

Any company that cares about Leetcode won't care about your certs.
Aka not a thing for top tier companies
