I do not receive RSUs since I work for a private company that never plans to go public.
I’m on track to clear $1.2mln in salary, commission, and bonus..
Do you prefer RSU vs cash since RSU may appreciate much more over time?
I helped turnaround a companies sales before they went under.. so my TC is an outlier in the industry.
I work remote and travel a shit ton to meet with buyers for line reviews and treat them to dinner/strip clubs etc..
I’m planning on starting my own business in the next 2 years so I can 5x-10x my current comp.#sales #sales #enterprise #ae
TC
Salary: 300k
Commission: $600k
Bonus:$300k
YOE: 10

Assuming I could have the same TC , I'd take all cash over RSU's. I'd rather investment it myself then leave it all in one place.
Cash in hand means you could put the money in like a Roth IRA (retirement), invest it as safely or as aggressively as you wish rather than just your company’s stock at least until it vests.
If you want to go your own way in a couple of years - in your shoes I would be comfortable where you are as long as the money stays good.
The other factor is I don’t know what your level is right now but in a public company this would be for TC for a fairly high position - senior tech lead/manager/directorship or a you’d have to be a rockstar (comparing to tech jobs). What I’m getting at is - you have to weigh how happy you are with your current work against the prospective jobs.
Sounds like you’ve hit a jackpot in your position - you’d have to hit another one where ever you move to again.
