Currently an L7 sdm at Amazon. Offered an L66 at Microsoft which will be a pay decrease by about 50K year 1 and 75K year 2 to 4.
Scope will go from managing an org of 30 to an individual team.
Current location is Seattle so no need to relocate.
I’m thinking of taking this offer because I want better WLB and see a brighter long term future at Microsoft compared to Amazon.
Anyone done this before and has regrets?

Why not push for the director equivalent? Or wait a year or so for the right role to open up
Current Microsoft team doesn’t have scope for director.
But how much TC difference will you have after Cliff at both places? Will it still be worth it?
