It's worse than a new grad offer, but it's a great step to jump into good TC after 2 years

    • Yup, I do feel the same. It's pretty low.

I also have thought to prepare for some more time and then apply for Senior software engineer.

I had cleared Sr. Software Engineer at ORACLE OCI but they didn't give offer because of hiring freeze (this is what recruiter told).

New grad offers and industry offers come from different departments and budgets at Microsoft, so comparing them isn't really useful

No way. Unless you're hurting for a job, I'd pass that up without regret. Assuming you did well in the interview, and that you took an appropriate interview loop, you should be at least L63. At least. They are stiff-arming you hardcore. Considering on-the-horizon inflation increase (now that congress approved the ~$2tr stimulus), you'd be getting even less. There's little upward mobility at Microsoft, so you'd be stuck for a while. You'd be hella screwed. Don't do it unless you have to.

I say this assuming you did well in the interview, have significant system design, systems programming, architecture, coding, algorithms, a CS-related degree, mentoring, and some cloud experience, which I'd expect for 10 YoE.

    • Thanks, I interviewed for Frontend role. I have CS degree and other related experience.

My system design interview went ok rest were very good. As one of the option, I am also thinking to try again for sr. position. I definitely have system design experience so, it won't difficult to perform well on next time.
