Manager doesn’t think I’m living up to my negotiated salary. How should I respond?

Background: SWE 2, entered with 2 YOE at Microsoft and Amazon. I switched from back end (cloud services) to front end (react) development, and I’ve been in my current FE role for a year. In my 1-1s with my manager, who is not an engineer, I’m getting feedback that I’m not meeting expectations, which are outlined as number of deliverables in a given time period. I thought I was pretty clear with my interviewers (including my manager) that I was switching from BE to FE, and I negotiated for salary and stock increases and was still brought in as a SWE 2. In my most recent 1-1s, my manager specifically mentioned that their frustrations were exacerbated “given how much we are paying you”. I’ve checked the salary bands on Levels.fyi, and it’s not out of the range for SWE 2 given my YOE, but to be fair, those were in a different tech stack. Should I be worried my manager is going to adversely impact my career here? #managingUp #negotiation #swe2
