Since I did a training about diversity at work, I began to be really silent and spoke only when needed. The key message of the learning was that they don't care about my intent, what is important is how others perceived what I said.

I used to be very talkative and talked a lot about various subject with everyone like politics, sport, etc. But since I learned that I could get in trouble for anything that I said, I don't feel like talking anything other than work anymore. I don't go anymore to lunch with my coworkers because it's natural to talk in lunch, and I just don't feel like saying anything that could be used against me.

My manager began to worry because of my sudden change. How can I explain him thaI don't feel comfortable anymore sharing any of my thoughts not related to work?

Is it also the same in your company? How do you deal with it in your day to day job?

PS: There was already people who were fired due to those reason at my company so I know they don't joke about it.
PS2: It's April Fool's day but unfortunately this is not a joke. I have written more words on this post than I've shared words with my colleagues today.
