There have been a few posts here on Blind warning about backlogged PERM queue at Meta. The last post implied that even though the case was settled with DOJ last October, there is no positive movement (PERM approval) yet.

- Is this true? Has there been any PERM approval yet?
- How risky is joining Meta for someone who could possibly have their PD become current in next couple of years?

  • I thought there was a 36 month waiting period after settlement for no new PERM.

So couldn’t find any other source mentioning that. Don’t know how much of that is actually true.

As from what I know is that they are withdrawing cases where recruitment fails meaning US person found. It is about 10 percent of the cases for SWE and the rest of the cases have gone to Audit. As for new filings which they will start from June will have a more then 20 percent of Audit rate. The reason we haven’t seen any new approval is because all cases which passed recruitment have gone to audit. Nothing is mentioned about 36 months pause in the doj settlement release. It does mention that new cases will have higher scrutiny and the HM has to go through a training.

I got an offer from Meta and i really want to join. I got H1B valid till 2026. Will I be able to file perm/i140 and get approved before 2026?

If the money is good take it ..2026 is a long time worst case you can switch in 2025 to a new company which immediately processes PERM all this provided priority date is beyond 2015. But joining meta for someone who doesnt have an approved I-140 from previous employer could be a bad move if you want to continue to stay in the US .

My interpretation was that their PERM filings may get audited for some time (36 months) but they should be able to file new PERM cases.
