I am a recent grad with, 3+ years of experience, mostly in android. Working with MIT Media Lab right now. Two time Google Summer of Code Intern. What are my chances of getting remote ft jobs?

Recommendations of such companies are more than welcome.

Depends on how much time you have to find something. With enough time, you can probably find a remote position, but you may need to take an office job in the mean time.

Sad to say but easier to get a job and slowly move to remote or mention a big life change that forces you too.

Best bet is probably a company where majority of employees are remote. GitHub, spikeroak are some that come to mind

  • I don't experience but local employees tend to be favored over remote ones.

  • Pretty small, and if you manage to get one, you'll be first with your head on the block when layoffs come around. Too many tiny people in management, despite all of the lies about work life balance and flexibility.
