I was reached out to by Amazon some time ago. The recruiter set me up for some SDE II interviews onsite. At the time I didn’t know about levels.fyi or Blind. I agreed to do the interviews.
I started digging around before my interviews and found out about levels.fyi and Blind. I decided I wasn’t interested in SDE II, and let my recruiter know I wanted to interview for SDE III instead.
The recruiter let me know they would modify the loop to make sure they could judge me for SDE III.
Interviews went well, and the recruiter said feedback was great. They then gave me the option to do additional phone interviews for the purpose of upleveling from sde II to sde III.
Is that odd, or is this something you’ve seen before with amazon?
