Does anyone invest in pre-IPO companies? Came across EquityZen but you have to be an accredited investor. Not a millionaire… yet… pre-IPO investing should help though!

Any options available without being accredited?

I haven't tried equityzen. I do investment via SeedInvest which has early to late stage startups.

  • If you’re an inexperienced investor, pre-ipo is most likely not for you. Extreme volatility. This is assuming you are not trying to get lucky on a very short term gamble, which most financial advisors would tell you is not a sound strategy.

What do you mean extreme volatility? It is actually the opposite - there is no liquidity and hence no volatility. I think you meant to say that there is very high risk, which is true, hence one should diversify and invest inly in what they understand.

Definitely don’t recommend. They charge a lot of fees and the deals are bad. A lot of valuations just got cut so you could be lucky but good deals run out very fast

If your tc is over 200k in the last 2 years then you're accredited. All you have to do is self certify anyways. No one checks.
