I started my career off in IT Support and switched over to the SaaS space after college doing Application/Software Support.

I am basically a Support Engineer for a SaaS company. I am an SME for the companies SaaS offering and product.

Any advice on how to advance my career? Was thinking about getting some cloud certifications and looking to become a Technical Account Manager (TAM) or something along those lines at a bigger company.

Anybody start off in Support and advance your career from a support role?

You can try to jump to support role or Customer success role in cloud at one if the big 3 (azure, aws, gcp)depending on location (if in usa) could prob add at least another 30k to your TC and be closer to 90-100k

It wouldnโ€™t hurt to get either the Az-900 or AWS CCP foundational certs, but if you have IT experience you could land a role without certs and work on the more advanced ones after. For support look for Support Engineer, or Support Escalation engineer roles at Microsoft Azure and Cloud Support Engineer at Amazon, at MS you can also look for Customer Success Account Manager roles (csam) - not sure what the Amazon equivalent is but probably similar
