I have an ongoing offer discussion with LinkedIn

base: 165k
stock: 280k/4 yrs
bonus: 10%
sign on: 40k

yoe: 5
current TC: 205k

Is this a good offer? I am still considering since it's not a "huge" bump and the current company I am at is very chill with low work volume.

  • That’s lowball. Stocks must be atleast 300k, base can go to atleast 175k

  • The numbers are not bad, although I've seen base salaries $10-15K higher and most offers seem to have $300K equity for Sr SWE.

I'd see if you can get the first year TC to $300K+

      OP
The interviewer sent me a project via email. The project has basic skeleton code that can be compiled and it has some API to be consumed. Then, the interviewer gave me a high level explanation about the existing APIs and gave a list of requirements.
The requirements given were a bit vague, so I had to ask additional questions such as....
do I need to cache the API? Do I need to handle edge cases such as network failure? Do I need to break down the API calls or I can just make several API at the beginning (i.e: preload everything)... also asked other questions trying to figure what the interviewer are mostly interested in such as User experience (i.e: offline mode? notification? latency? battery comsumtion?)

Nothing fascinating about this. Doesn't seem like a up level

I didn't get offended because it's higher than my current TC and I don't have work experience at large tech companies. That could be the reason for low offer?

Possibly. Talk a big game in your interview. Usually these companies use you lack of exposure to scale to low ball you.
