With new amendments in S386 everyone should be eligible to file for EAD. For all intrinsic purpose this gives benefits equivalent to green card except early path to citizenship.
@ROW this sounds win win to me, what's your reason for still opposing this bill?

1) under section 106(c), when we use i140 bound EAD to search for jobs, the new job must be similar as the one in I-140 Petition. That means we cannot do Uber or Starbuck. We still need to work in IT
2) every time you change job with EAD, your new employer need to file I-485J. Though it’s just a form, not every employer wants that extra trouble.
3) If you become unemployed for a long time (over three months or something) whole holding Combo, though you will not be deported right away, you will get rejected on the day of I-485 adjudication eventually and kicked out of US
4) Using AP to get into Us will automatically trigger secondary inspection. It will cost you a couple more hours (but I think that’s not a big trouble here)
5) That’s the most scary one and also unverified. AP and EAD, the first time you choose to use either of them, you will automatically give up H1/L1 and switch to AOS. That means, during the long waiting period, if by any reason your i485 is revoked you will be immediately out of status
