Have an interview at twitter coming up - should I go through with it? How does Elon Musk buying up twitter affect RSUs/offers for someone coming on?

I'm in the same position. I have an interview shortly and I'm worried about work life balance and remote work as well as lay offs. I don't want to waste anybody's time by interviewing and then declining

I think thread OP is also worried about wasting his own time. Virtual onsite s is a whole day commitment. For me it's a PTO day - each PTO day for me is worth 1k+

PTO gets paid out to me in cash when I leave the company (California)

@xrxl53: @Op Can I know for what level are you interviewing for? Is it for Staff level? Did you already have initial phone screen? Can I know what is expected in the initial phone screen ?

Depends what you're trying to achieve. Twitter is a strong name in Silicon Valley tech, obviously. It could be a great place to establish yourself as a top engineer or employee in the industry. Even with the Elon thing happening.

The comp will not be as life changing as a FAANG or successful startup.

I have a verbal offer but waiting on the official. So now I’m wondering if that’s on hold

How does that work for employees with non-vested RSUs and future grants? Does the equity become monopoly money until the company ever goes public again? Or is the secondary market a viable option to keep up 350k+ TCs

A lot of companies have a trigger clause around acquisitions. It’ll pull-ahead a year or sometimes all your stock vests. Read your contract.

Sometimes companies doing acquisitions will convert existing future vests as a retention bonus.
