Recruiter says most of the feedback is positive, there was some conversation around one of the design rounds. The leaders of the org are now reviewing your packet. It will go for VP/director approval once it's approved from there.

Interviews: 2 coding, 2 design, 1 behavioral
1 design was not good, others were great.

What does that mean? Have I passed the debrief step and I am in candidate review?

Interview was 2 weeks back.

      E6 ICs don't have people under them but you should be technically leading projects and driving cross-team efforts. Sounds like you aren't ready for e6 anyway.

      Next time don't reveal level. Maybe you'll sneak an e6 loop. But imo if you couldn't even get 65 at msft there's no way you get e6 at fb (msft bar is frankly a joke compared to fb bar) And even if you do get it, you'll probably be PIP'd out real fast. You don't have time to learn how to satisfy e6 requirements on the job, you're expected to hit the ground running and e6 is a huge expectation

    That's a good sign. I was in the same situation. I had 2 design rounds as well. Just accepted my offer last week

      The e5 number doesn’t seem sustainable, 480k first year, and 380k onwards. Even averaged out it’s 405k/year. Is it possible to negotiate for E6 package and with e5 title?

      I am ok with it. Since after we get in, the subsequent raise/refresher/bonus and promo is solely based on performance. To your second question, no I don't think so.

    Got offer! Haven't gotten the numbers and level yet. Does anyone know how much time they are giving? And when does that start? After the email or the call? I have Google and Snap on-site next week, what should I do?

    Got E5 offer. Recruiter is asking current compensation, other offer details, salary expectations. He is saying lmk if there's anything we can do so that you cancel on-sites. Current TC is 400k, no other offer, what should I do? Tell him the details, or wait to do Google and Snap on-site next week.

  • I interviewed for ML SWE role and had same loops - 2 coding, 1 ML design, 1 software arch design and 1 behavioral. All my interviews went spotless and I got E5 top of the band offer with 5yoe. I don't think you will get E6 offer with 1 design round bit messed up and 5yoe. Also, it's highly unlikely you will get top of the band E5 offer unless you have very strong competing offers.
    My comment is not to discourage you but to set right expectations.
