Hello all. I have received an external job offer as a Project Coordinator and would like to counter as it is lower than I expected.
I would really appreciate any advice/feedback/etc.
Thank you

  • Recruiters always expect a counter offer, and I think it’s important to counter, because it shows you believe in what you are worth and what you can bring to the company in terms of value.

Always be respectful and don’t be smug or presumptuous when you are about to counter.

If they ask you how much you are currently making, I would advice to avoid giving them an answer because what you currently make may not reflect what the market is willing to pay you. Instead provide them with a figure that you believe is the fair value for someone in your field/experience.

    Good luck!

If you got an offer they already went to a great deal of effort to make sure you are the right person. Asking for more money, stock whatever is OK at this stage. Talk to the recruiter and tell them outright what you think. Give them a counter that's a good bit higher than you are willing to accept. You. Might get it or they might come back with a other offer. Stick to your guns and get what you want.
