Should I ask my employer to pay my OPT application fee
Hey guys, so I'm (sorta) a recent grad. I graduated over the summer but found out last minute that I needed more credits--which I'm now taking online, but expect to complete in December. I informed the company(a startup) I was interviewing with about this when I found out, and they were willing to still move forward with me and bring me in on CPT(work authorization for F-1 VISA holders before completing your degree). Now the thing is, my start date is in November, this week. I'm a broke college student, I'm relying on income from this position to do anything at the moment. Between rent and paying back loans I took from people to move for work, I don't anticipate having an additional $500 to apply for OPT this month.
USCIS typically sends back an EAD card--assuming no RFEs--in 3 or 4 months. So I literally have to apply ASAP, should I ask my company to pay for my application fee so I can get the process rolling and won't be out of work for so long while waiting for EAD? What do you guys think?
YOE: 0
TC: Salary(60k)+per diem+equity = ~$165k
Please only pay attention to the 60k lol the equity is based on predictions for the year, and I won't see any of it till I stay a year.

If they reject it and you still need the money, ask them if they offer some kind of interest free loan. And again, do not associate this with your hiring. They are two separate things.
