Hi.
I’m a Business Intel Engineer (BIE) with ~4 yoe in business/analytics. My undergrad degree is from an unknown school in a non-STEM field. I worked for 2 years doing marketing before completing a Master’s in Business Analytics (MSBA) from a T20 school. I’ve been with Amazon working mainly with SQL/Data viz ever since.
The high SWE TC’s on Blind has really motivated me to make the switch. But I’m a bit discouraged given my irrelevant experiences and lack of formal training. I also feel intellectually inferior compared to swes I know/those who studied CS.
Would making the transition be worth it (tc wise) given I’d come in as entry level…or even possible?
And if possible, how difficult would this be? I am confident in working hard despite feeling dumb and plan to learn from a self paced full-stack bootcamp curriculum.
Will really appreciate all advice/insights. Thanks!
tldr; likelihood/feasibility to become SWE as BIE with nontechnical background? resources to learn?
tc: 130k
