I got an offer from Amazon which has asked me to do a background check. They've asked me for 10 years of employment history. They've also asked me to list all internships and be accurate to the resume I sent to Amazon.

I did a couple of small and inconsequential internships in 2011 which are not relevant to my work today. I didnt put that on my resume. It's not even on my LinkedIn.

Should I put that on my background check? I do have letters of reference and certificates that verify I did those. But don't know if Amazon will feel I misrepresented??

Is this a clearance position? If so then make sure you give everything.

    • That doesn’t answer the question....10 years is the standard highest clearance level worth of knowledge needed.

      OP
It's a standard background check. It's not for a position that requires security clearance if that's your question

Background check should be complete and accurate regardless of what your resume and LinkedIn say. It’s typically a 3rd party that is looking for flags/inconsistencies and if you report 100% truth, you’ll clear the check without issues.

Yes and no to which questions?

Yes that I should put them in the background check and no that Amazon won't feel I misrepresented?

Hi OP. I’m facing similar situation. I worked on a temporary position for 2 months and that’s not on my resume. It’s also not relevant. What did you end up doing with your background check? How long did that take?
